These Specimen Containers are designed for collecting specimens of urine, sputum, stool, peritoneal exudate, joint fluid or biopsy specimen for laboratory analyses.
They are designed with very special features such as:
1. although the screw cap is firmly locked on the container when initially supplied, there is actually a cap-container gap that allows for ethylene oxide gas to reach and sterilize the inner surface of the container. Yet when the cap is tightened the next time after collection of specimen, it is tight enough to prevent any leak of the bio-hazardous content.
2. The container is made of a very light material to ensure that it can be easily sucked up the chute into the overhead carousal carrier in the hospital, yet it will resist breakage and side-dripping when pouring into a test tube or another collector.
3. A scoop is available if this container is intended for collecting stool specimen.
These containers can be supplied in bulk non-sterile packs or single, sterilized peel-pouch packing specifically for operating room use.
