The Proctoscope is meant for examining the anal canal to check for haemorroids, benign polyps or malignancies.
It consists of 2 separate parts – obturator and speculum.
The obturator has an olivary tip shaped to dilate the anal orifice when being inserted into the anal canal. It is then locked into the speculum with an easy turn of the handle, either clockwise or anti-clockwise. Turn handle slightly in the reverse direction to unlock and remove.
The speculum is designed to have a working length of 65mm to enable a quick recognition of the haemorroids and reduce the adjusting of the speculum opening above or below the pectinate line.
